What tends to help

The feeder reads your pet's implanted microchip (or an included RFID collar tag) and only opens the sealed lid for that animal. Other pets approaching the bowl see it stay shut. The lid also keeps wet food covered between visits, which slows drying noticeably compared to an open dish. You can register up to 32 microchips, though most households will only use two or three.

A straight answer: Timid cats sometimes refuse to eat near the motorised lid. The built-in training mode opens the lid gradually over several days, but expect a week of coaxing.

Does SureFeed work with my cat's existing microchip?

Yes for most ISO FDX-B and FDX-A microchips used in the UK. You run a simple pairing routine. If your cat has no chip, use the RFID collar tag included in many bundles.

Can I leave wet food in it all day?

The lid keeps food covered longer than an open bowl, but hot weather still matters. Follow the same food-safety rules you would use for any wet food.
